Oil Painting Commissions by Marcelo Rochá
I approach every commission as an original work of art, not simply a reproduction of a photograph. The photos you share serve as visual references, while the story behind your pet becomes an emotional reference that guides my painting.
How I Build My Compositions
Whenever possible, I like to paint pets at their actual size, creating a stronger sense of presence in the painting. I also love to portray them in their favorite places, surrounded by familiar things like blankets, cushions, rugs... These details enrich the composition and bring a sense of warmth, comfort, and belonging to the portrait.
Original Photo vs Painting
I work with classical oil painting techniques and exclusively museum-quality materials, with the goal of creating an oil painting that will be cherished for a lifetime.
Premium Portrait Presentation
Each pet portrait is painted on a high-quality stretched canvas and carefully packaged in an elegant black gift box, making it a beautiful gift for someone special.
I have commissioned Marcelo twice for dog portraits and he never fails to deliver something that will touch your heart and you will cherish forever. He absolutely captured the soul of both of my pups and I will never be able to thank him enough.
John Lawson
Marcelo did the most incredible oil painting of our dog Maya. The likeness to the original photo is unbelievable. It is a beautiful tribute to our beloved girl who we lost in June. Thank you so much Marcelo, for this wonderful addition to our home.
